We went on a school trip to Margate, a seaside town in Kent, England. It’s situated on the coast along the North Foreland and contains the areas of Cliftonville, Garlinge, Palm Bay and Westbrook. In the early days Margate was a leading seaside for Londoners.
When it became possible for the majority of the people to cheaply travel to other countries and especially Spain, the interest to go on holiday to Margate disappeared. That’s when Margate went in a process of decline.
Nowadays a lot of buildings are empty or dilapidated and there are a lot of vintage stores.
